The rest of our first week was spent visiting and getting to know the boys, and familiarizing ourselves with our surroundings. We walked several times to Arcades , the nearby mall with restaurants, grocery store, cinema, hair salon, banks, clothing, and other service stores. It took us about 20 minutes to walk there. To Manda Hill, a larger mall with pretty much everything you could need, we took a taxi. We eventually guessed that it would take an extra 10-15 minutes to get to Manda Hill from Arcades , so even that is a walkable distance.
When Sunday came, we got our keys to the cottage and cleaned, unpacked, and set up for the boys’ arrival the next day. Exhausted but satisfied, we went to bed, excited to settle into what would be our home for the next several months.
